Shinhwa’s Lee Min-woo is opening up about his relationship and upcoming marriage on national television. The veteran idol recently confirmed his marriage plans and will be sharing more personal stories on the August 9 episode of KBS 2TV’s Mr. House Husband Season 2.
In the teaser aired on August 2, Lee Min-woo joyfully announces, “I’m getting married,” confirming the news he previously shared on July 25 via his personal channel. He revealed that he and his bride-to-be had been long-time acquaintances and decided to take their relationship to the next level after confirming mutual feelings.
What’s particularly intriguing is that his fiancée, who appeared only briefly in the teaser, left a lasting impression. According to Lee Min-woo, he initially asked her if she was Korean because of how fluent her Korean was — to which she replied she was, and it was later revealed she is a third-generation Korean-Japanese (재일 교포 3세).
The preview also shows Lee Min-woo announcing to his parents that the couple plans to move in together with them, a traditional yet increasingly rare setup in modern Korea. His parents appear surprised and concerned, especially his mother, who questions whether the fiancée would be comfortable living in a shared space and raises practical worries about space, transportation, and finances.
Later in the clip, Lee Min-woo is seen calling his fiancée and greeting her with a cheerful “moshi moshi”, a Japanese phone greeting, showing their cultural closeness. She then sweetly asks, “How were your parents?”, suggesting their deepening bond.
Lee Min-woo’s full segment, including behind-the-scenes stories of his relationship and plans for married life, will be broadcast on Saturday, August 9, at 9:20 PM KST on Mr. House Husband.
