Lee Jong-suk Refuses Casting Offer For Lee Eung-bok’s New Drama “I’m Against My Romance”

Directed by Lee Eung-bok, who was in charge of “Descendants of the Sun”, “Goblin”, “Mr. Sunshine”, “Sweet Home”, “Jirisan”, etc., “I’m Against My Romance” tells the story about discovering whether reuniting with an ex-lover is an extension of a familiar relationship or the beginning of a new relationship.

Earlier in September, Choi Hyun-wook and Go Min-si were reportedly reviewing the casting offers for the lead roles. However, Choi Hyun-wook’s agency revealed that the actor politely declined the offer because he couldn’t arrange his schedule to join the project.

Lee Jong-suk then received an offer to star in “I’m Against My Romance” last month and was considering it. However, it was later reported that both Lee Jong-suk and Go Min-si would not appear in the drama, putting the production of “I’m Against My Romance” in a critical situation.

In this regard, Studio Dragon said to OSEN, “Lee Jong-suk decided not to join the cast due to the schedule of his movie filming”. They also dismissed the rumor of Go Min-si’s failed casting, saying “It’s groundless”. It is true that the actress was already reviewing the offer but there has not been a clear answer to her casting.

In particular, Studio Dragon also informed viewers of the production progress, saying “We’re discussing the organization of the project in various ways. The casting work is also underway”. They firmly denied rumors of a production cancellation.

Meanwhile, Lee Jong-suk has not been active since his appearance in MBC’s drama “Big Mouth” and the movie “Decibel” last year. After leaving HighZium Studio, the actor was said to have been discussing an exclusive contract with Ace Factory and a production collaboration last month, heralding his new transformation as a producer.

Go Min-si recently participated in the promotion of Netflix’s “Sweet Home 2”, which was released on December 1st. Earlier in July, she greeted viewers through the movie “Smugglers”.
