Actor Lee Jin-wook is making a powerful comeback with “Sweet Home Season 2”
Lee Jin-wook recently left a strong impression on viewers through his performance in Netflix’s series “Doona!”. Appearing in the drama because of his friendship with director Lee Jung-hyo, whom he worked with in “I Need Romance 2012”, the actor took on the role of Manager P ‘Park In-wook’ and proved his presence with deep eye acting and an overwhelming aura. Captivating the audience with his unique soft eyes and melo acting every time he showed up in the past movie “Beauty Inside”, Lee Jin-wook gained recognition for this again through “Doona!”.
However, Lee Jin-wook is going to take off the soft man image to return with a fierce character. Playing Pyeon Sang-wook, a former detective who is misunderstood as a gangster, in Netflix’s popular series “Sweet home”, Lee Jin-wook received compliments for his intense eye acting as his character mostly speaks with eyes instead of words. Thought to have been dead, Sang-wook reappeared in the last episode of Season 1 as if nothing had happened and took Hyun-soo (Song Kang) somewhere. The burn scars on Sang-wook’s face also disappeared, stimulating viewers’ curiosity.
Regarding the way he approached Pyeon Sang-wook after being possessed by Jung Eui-myeong (Kim Sung-cheol) in Season 1, Lee Jin-wook said, “In Season 2, the backstory of Jung Eui-myeong will be revealed. There is complex and philosophical content like that of the character Pyeon Sang-wook in Season 1. Since this is an uncommon character, there were many parts where I had to conduct research in order to capture his energy. Not all characters are simple, and this one is particularly special”.
Lee Jin-wook, who is returning as Jung Eui-myung, who thinks turning into monsters is the hope of humans, in the body of Pyeon Sang-wook, already raised viewers’ expectations with the short fighting scene with Song Kang in the trailer. As the second season begins due to the conflict between Sang-wook and Hyun-soo, anticipation for the expanded relationship and deepened narratives in Season 2 is increasing.
Season 2 of “Sweet Home”, starring Lee Jin-wook, will premiere on Netflix on December 1st. While promoting “Sweet Home 2”, Lee Jin-wook is also working hard on the filming of “Squid Game 2”.
