Lee Je-hoon Recovers from Ischemic Colitis Surgery and Prepares to Resume Activities

Lee Je-hoon has recovered significantly from his surgery and was discharged from the hospital last week 

According to OSEN reports on October 16th, Lee Je-hoon recently underwent emergency surgery for ischemic colitis at a hospital in Seoul and was hospitalized for nearly two weeks to focus on treatment. 

He has since recovered rapidly and was discharged from the hospital last week. He is now resting at his home.

A source close to Lee Je-hoon revealed, “His health has improved significantly, and he is now in a condition to resume normal activities in his daily life.” They added, “He plans to catch up on postponed schedules as early as this week or next week. He will return to filming his drama soon.”

They continued, “Many people, including friends and fans, expressed their concerns and support, which helped him recover more quickly. He is truly grateful.”

Earlier, Lee Je-hoon was assigned to host the opening ceremony of the 28th Busan International Film Festival alongside Park Eun-bin, but he had to withdraw from the event due to health reasons. As it turns out, the night before, he underwent emergency surgery for ischemic colitis at a hospital in Seoul.

On October 2nd, Lee Je-hoon’s agency told OSEN, “Lee Je-hoon went to the hospital last night due to sudden abdominal pain and felt something wrong with his colon. He was diagnosed with ischemic colitis. He underwent emergency surgery until dawn, fortunately the surgery went well.”

At that time, Lee Je-hoon also had to halt the filming of MBC’s drama ‘Chief Inspector: The Beginning,’ scheduled to air next year. 

Earlier this year, Lee Je-hoon played Kim Do-ki in SBS’s drama ‘Taxi Driver 2,’ which ended in April and achieved high nationwide viewership ratings of 21.0%. ‘Taxi Driver’ has been confirmed for season 3.
