Actresses Lee Hye Ri and Jung Soo Bin were honored with the Best Couple Award at the 2025 APAN Star Awards, thanks to their headline-making on-screen chemistry in Friendly Rivalry.
The 11th APAN Star Awards (2025 SeoulCon APAN Star Awards) took place on December 29 at Hall 1 of Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Seoul. Hosted by actor Kim Seung Woo and broadcaster Park Sun Young, the ceremony is Korea’s only integrated drama awards show recognizing works across terrestrial TV, cable, OTT platforms, and web dramas.
The Best Couple Award went to Lee Hye Ri and Jung Soo Bin, whose bold same-sex kiss scene in Friendly Rivalry sparked intense buzz and discussion throughout the year.
Lee Hye Ri was unable to attend the ceremony, so Jung Soo Bin accepted the trophy on behalf of both actresses. Holding the award, she couldn’t hide her excitement.
“Hye Ri unnie, I won this award thanks to you!” she said with a smile.
Jung Soo Bin continued with a heartfelt acceptance speech, expressing gratitude to fans and the production team.
“As the senior said earlier, I believe this is an award given by the fans, so I’m sincerely thankful,” she said. “I want to thank everyone who showed so much love to Friendly Rivalry throughout the year. Every time, I’m reminded of how many people’s hard work goes into one project.”
She went on to thank the entire cast and crew.
“I’m truly grateful to all the members of the Friendly Rivalry family who worked together. I believe I’m able to work in such a good environment now thanks to the amazing seniors who paved the way. I also hope to become a senior who doesn’t disappoint others in the future.”
Jung Soo Bin concluded by extending warm words beyond the stage.
“I want to say to all the adults and seniors in Korea that you’ve worked so hard this year. I hope you all have a warm year-end. Thank you—and thank you, Bingsoo!” she added, affectionately addressing fans by their fandom name.
The win reflects not only the strong chemistry between Lee Hye Ri and Jung Soo Bin, but also the growing recognition of diverse storytelling in Korean dramas—making their Best Couple Award one of the most talked-about moments of the night.
