However, toward the end of the broadcast, he shifted to a more emotional tone while reflecting on his life and personal values.

He specifically mentioned the passing of Na Chul, who died suddenly in January 2023 at the age of 36. The two actors had shared a close friendship, and the loss deeply affected him.

“After sending my friend off, I thought I shouldn’t keep living the same way,” Lee Dong-hwi recalled. “The day I returned home after the funeral, I promised myself I would live harder so that something like that wouldn’t happen again to the people around me.”

The actor also spoke candidly about his parents. Watching them grow older made him realize that he wanted to show them the moment he builds his own family.

“Creating a family has become my life’s biggest goal now,” he said, adding that he has recently become more expressive and talkative with his parents compared to the past when he was more reserved.

At the time, both agencies confirmed the split and stated that the former couple decided to remain supportive colleagues.

Now at 42, Lee Dong-hwi appears to be entering a new chapter in life—one where family and meaningful relationships have become his greatest priorities.
