On August 6, the YouTube channel “John or Park” uploaded a video titled “Behind the Scenes of ‘Superstar K2’ After 15 Years & Recreating Legendary Stages”. Hosted by singer John Park, the series features fellow “Superstar K2” alumni Kang Seung-yoon (WINNER), Jang Jane, Huh Gak and Kim Ji-soo as they revisit cherished moments from their time on the show. All were members of the Top 11 and have maintained their friendship for 15 years.

In the third episode, the group recalled iconic performances such as Jang Jane and Kim Ji-soo’s “Cinderella”, Huh Gak’s “Running in the Sky” and Kang Seung-yoon’s “Instinctively”, reliving the emotional highlights of the competition.

The conversation turned poignant when they remembered Park Bo-ram, who tragically passed away on April 11 last year at the age of 30. She was found unconscious in the bathroom of an acquaintance’s home and was rushed to the hospital but could not be revived.

Discussing who they had considered potential winners back then, Huh Gak named John Park, noting that public expectations were high given his American Idol background. John Park responded, “For vocals, it was Huh Gak. For musicality, it was Jang Jane. And the dark horse was Park Bo-ram.” As archival footage of Park singing “When Time Passes” played, he reflected, “Even at such a young age, she sang so well. Performing alongside those three, I truly admired them.”

Fans who watched the video expressed nostalgia and affection, “Just seeing they’re still close makes me feel rewarded for supporting them back then,” “This is my version of the ‘Reply’ series,” “John Park and Huh Gak’s ‘Behind You’ is legendary,” and “Park Bo-ram had such a rare, outstanding talent—it’s heartbreaking.”

First aired in 2010, “Superstar K2” remains one of the most talked-about seasons in the show’s history, launching successful careers for winners and finalists alike, including Huh Gak, John Park, Kim So-jung, Kang Seung-yoon and Jang Jane, all of whom are still active in the music industry today.
