“Waterbomb Goddess” Kwon Eunbi is preparing for a major career shift as she parts ways with her longtime agency and heads toward a new powerhouse in the entertainment industry.
According to a Star News report on 8 April, Kwon Eunbi has confirmed that she recently decided not to join Galaxy Corporation after much deliberation.
Previously, Kwon Eunbi’s exclusive contract with Woollim Entertainment officially comes to an end, with the singer choosing not to renew. Instead, she is expected to sign with Galaxy Corporation, with discussions reportedly in the final stages.
Galaxy Corporation was considered the most likely destination.
Until recently, both parties had been discussing an exclusive contract in a positive light amid active overtures from Galaxy Corporation, but disagreements arose during the final stage of fine-tuning, ultimately causing the deal to fall through.
Industry insiders reveal that Galaxy Corporation actively pursued the artist, signaling strong interest in expanding its growing roster of high-profile stars. The company, known as Korea’s first AI-based entertainment tech firm, has been blending advanced technologies like AI and robotics with content production, positioning itself as a next-generation entertainment powerhouse.

Kwon Eunbi’s potential move would place her alongside major names already under Galaxy Corporation, including G-Dragon, Taemin, Kim Jong-kook, and Song Kang-ho. The expanding lineup has drawn attention as the company rapidly strengthens its influence across both music and entertainment sectors.
Debuting in 2014, Kwon Eunbi first gained widespread recognition through Mnet’s Produce 48, eventually becoming a member of IZ*ONE. Following the group’s disbandment, she successfully transitioned into a solo career, releasing tracks such as “Door,” “Glitch,” and “Underwater.”

She later solidified her status as a summer icon through her standout performances at the Waterbomb festival, earning the nickname “Waterbomb Goddess” for her captivating stage presence and visuals.
With her next agency move nearly confirmed, attention is now turning to what direction Kwon Eunbi will take in this new chapter—especially under a company pushing the boundaries of entertainment through technology.
Meanwhile, attention quickly turned to the broader situation at Woollim Entertainment. Once considered a strong mid-tier agency outside the “Big 4,” Woollim built its reputation with successful acts such as Epik High and Nell, before gaining massive popularity with the debut of INFINITE.
The company later expanded its roster with groups like Lovelyz and continued to introduce new artists following its merger with SM Culture & Contents. However, in recent years, Woollim has seen a steady decline in artist activity as many of its major acts have departed.
Both INFINITE and Lovelyz have fully left the agency, while most members of Rocket Punch and Golden Child have also exited. This has significantly reduced the company’s active roster.
At present, Jangjun remains one of the few visibly active artists under Woollim, primarily working as a radio DJ and appearing on variety programs. Meanwhile, Rocket Punch’s Suyun and members of Drippin maintain a presence on social media, though their group activities have been limited, with no comeback since 2023.
This situation has led many fans to speculate about the agency’s future, with some describing the wave of departures as a sign of decline. Online discussions have intensified, with fans of remaining artists expressing hope that their favorites may soon find new opportunities elsewhere.
