The movie “Love Lies Bleeding” has aroused keen interest ever since it was screened at the opening ceremony of the 28th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival.
Released on July 10th, “Love Lies Bleeding” tells about Lou and Jackie, who fall for each other after 0.001 seconds, committing an unimaginable murder. Kristen Stewart appears as Lou, a gym manager who is crazy about love, and Katy O’Brian plays Jackie, an ambitious rising bodybuilder. In addition to the two leading actresses, the movie also stars Ed Harris, Dave Franco, Anna Baryshnikov and Jena Malone.
Director Rose Glass, who co-wrote the script and directed the movie, shared, “I took reference from American movies in the 80s, from thrillers to romance and noir films”, adding “I kept certain cliché while changing some details in an interesting way. I had so much fun filming the movie”.
In particular, the director successfully created a dark yet exciting odyssey filled with love, desire, bloody revenge and escape as Lou and Jackie meet again in the American West from a rebellious and delicate perspective.
The production team also released still cuts of several moments in the film. Their costumes and props from the 80s create a nostalgic feeling, and the vintage mood also stimulates viewers’ emotions.
