On August 4, RBW shocked fans by announcing that PURPLE KISS would wrap up activities in November. The agency explained the decision came after “long and sincere discussions” with the members, respecting each person’s individual dreams.
The timing makes it sting even more, the group just released “I Miss My…” in July, and they still have an English album, Japanese promotions, and an American tour on the calendar. Since debuting in 2021, they’ve delivered fan favorites like “Ponzona,” “Zombie,” “memeM” and “7HEAVEN.”

Earlier this year, IST Entertainment confirmed the disbandment of Weeekly. Debuting in 2020 with “Tag Me,” the group quickly made waves, earning multiple rookie awards and releasing catchy tracks like “After School” and “Holiday Party.” For many fans, their early exit feels like unfinished business.
In June, Yuehua Entertainment ended exclusive contracts with EVERGLOW members, effectively pausing group activities. The 2019-debuted group is known for high-energy performances and hits like “Bon Bon Chocolat” and “Dun Dun.” Members insist it’s not a full disbandment, but the future is uncertain.
An industry insider explained that while smaller-label groups can make an impact, financial instability often derails long-term plans. Without the massive promotional budgets and media pull of the “Big 4” agencies, smaller companies struggle to maintain momentum, especially with a constant wave of new debuts each year.
This leaves groups caught in a tough spot: fight an uphill battle for attention, or disband and start fresh with a new concept or lineup. Unfortunately, fans often pay the emotional price.
