Korea’s first-ever LGBTQ romance reality shows, “Merry Queer” and “His Love”, are coming out
New dating reality programs about queer couples “Merry Queer” and “His Love” are about to be launched.
On June 16th, Wavve, a Korean online video service (OTT) platform, announced the upcoming release of South Korea’s first queer dating reality shows titled “Merry Queer” and “His Love.”
“Merry Queer” is a romance reality program that depicts the challenges of LGBTQ couples towards confident love and marriage. “His Love” is a gay dating reality show in which honest and bold men move into each other’s house and confirm their true feelings towards one another.
Recently, Korean dating reality content has been loved by many viewers. TVING’s “Transit Love”, “Love Catcher in Seoul”, Kakao TV’s “Change Days”, and Netflix’s “Single’s Inferno” were all very popular. As a result, Wavve took a step forward and created a special dating reality show that looks into the daily life and love of LGBTQ couples.
Amid the growing number of K-dramas featuring homosexuals and transgender people as main characters, attention is being paid to whether Wavve will be able to expand K-Entertainment and create a new wind.
“Merry Queer” and “His Love” will be released this July.
