In this post, which focused solely on female students’ uniforms, South Korea ranked third. Singapore was in 10th place, India in 9th, Indonesia in 8th, Malaysia in 7th, Thailand in 6th, the Philippines in 5th, and Vietnam in 4th. China took 2nd place, while Japan claimed the top spot. Japanese school uniforms consist of plaid skirts, gray vests, and neck ribbons.

However, netizens criticized the photos accompanying the rankings, arguing that the uniforms were inaccurately represented.

Particularly, the uniforms from Malaysia and Singapore became a point of contention. One netizen commented, “The 10th-place uniform is from Malaysia, but when did it become Singapore’s uniform?” Another netizen from Singapore added, “I’ve never seen this kind of uniform in Singapore.”

Singapore was part of the Malaysian Federation when Malaysia gained independence from Britain in 1957. However, in 1965, due to racial issues, Singapore withdrew from the federation and declared independence, becoming the Singapore we know today.

Some netizens criticized the post’s author for confusing Malaysia and Singapore, pointing out that “Singapore and Malaysia are different countries.” Additionally, concerns were raised about the length of the Malaysian uniforms, which are generally expected to fall below the knee due to the predominantly Muslim population.

Criticism also emerged from other countries. Netizens from China, India, and Thailand questioned the accuracy of the displayed uniforms. A Chinese user pointed out that the uniforms representing China are typically only worn in private schools.

Unsatisfied netizens dismissed the post as “nonsense” and urged others not to believe the photos of the uniforms.
