These 3 works already ended but are drawing attention as their heat has not cooled down yet. “Business Proposal” and “Twenty-five Twenty-one” led the list of the box office hits with the highest rating exceeding 10% at the time they were aired. Along with the work, the popularity of their cast actors, such as Ahn Hyo-seop, Nam Joo-hyuk, and Song Kang, also rose significantly.

Business Proposal (2022)

“Business Proposal” tells a thrilling office romance between a talented CEO, who is also known as a ‘face genius’, and a female employee who lies about her identity on the blind date. This drama is based on a webtoon and web novel of the same name on Kakao Page.

Kim Se-jeong earned the nickname “Korea’s Emma Stone” for her witty comic acting performance in the first episode. Meanwhile, Ahn Hyo-seop played the perfect CEO Kang Tae-moo, who owns not only an outstanding look but also money and excellent business skills. Showing different appearances in a drama, from romantic acting to unexpected funny sides, Ahn Hyo-seop received many compliments. “Business Proposal” is said to be a “re-discovery of Ahn Hyo-seop”.

Moreover, the romance of the supporting couple Kim Min-kyu and Seol In-ah also attracted as much attention as the main couple. The so-called “glasses kiss” became viral on SNS and is still being discussed as a famous scene in “Business Proposal”.

Twenty-five Twenty-one (2022)

“Twenty-five Twenty-one” depicts a refreshing romance as well as the wandering and growth of young people who lost their dreams due to the IMF crisis in 1998. The beautiful friendship stories of five young friends played by Kim Tae-ri, Nam Joo-hyuk, Bona (Kim Ji-yeon), Choi Hyun-wook, and Lee Joo-myung, gained huge popularity as they provided healing moments to the viewers.

Nam Joo-hyuk, who had not made any breakthrough with his previous works, succeeded in captivating the hearts of female fans by showing his melodramatic eyes acting in this work. Kim Tae-ri also perfectly transformed into Na Hee-do, from portraying her lovely appearance to showing her reliable side when comforting Nam Joo-hyuk’s character and her spiritful energy as a fencer.

Although the viewers expressed mixed responses to the ending in which the main couple could not achieve their love, the actors’ acting skills and chemistry still received endless favorable reviews and compliments.

Forecasting Love and Weather (2022)

“Forecasting Love and Weather” is a romance genre drama that tells the work and love life stories of people working at the Korea Meteorological Administration, which is hotter than tropical nights and more unpredictable than local heavy rains. In this first work set in the Korea Meteorological Administration, Park Min-young, who played general forecaster Jin Ha-kyung, showed off her heart-fluttering chemistry with Song Kang, who played Lee Si-woo, who is in charge of Special Reporting. In particular, Jin Ha-kyung’s breakup with Han Ki-joon (Yoon Park), whom she was about to get married to at the beginning of the drama, and her one-night stand with Song Kang’s character were well-received as fast and shocking developments.

As more episodes were aired, frustrating developments continued that disappointed the viewers. However, the drama still did well among prominent competitors, boosting the performance of JTBC’s dramas, which had witnessed a slump for such a long time. Through this drama, Park Min-young once again proved herself as a trustworthy actress and a “melodrama queen”, while Yoon Park made the best character in his career.
