“King the Land” tops Netflix Global Chart, Yoona achieves her No.1 bucket list 

As “King the Land” rises to the top spot on the Netflix Global Chart, Yoona achieves her No.1 bucket list item.

According to Netflix’s official Top 10 website on the morning of July 26th, “King the Land” recorded 4.7 million views and 65.1 million minutes of watch time (from July 17th to July 23rd), securing the top spot in the combined English and non-English TV category on Netflix’s global Top 10 list.

With this achievement, “King the Land” has become the first K-drama (excluding Netflix originals) to achieve the top spot in the TV category (English and non-English) since “Extraordinary Attorney Woo”. This is the second time in history that a non-Netflix original K-drama has achieved this feat.

Furthermore, “King the Land” has reached the #1 spot not only in South Korea but also in various countries, including Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Peru, Colombia, Costa Rica, Bolivia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Honduras, Paraguay, Venezuela, and Malaysia. Currently, the series has entered the Top 10 list in 46 countries.

On the other hand, Yoona previously mentioned in an interview on Netflix Korea’s YouTube channel that achieving the top spot on Netflix Global Chart with “King the Land” was her “No.1 Bucket List Item”. With this, Yoona achieves her No.1 bucket list amidst congratulations from netizens. 

Meanwhile, “King the Land”, which takes place in the VVIP lounge “King the Land” of King Hotel, is a drama that revolves around male lead Gu Won, who hates fake smile, and an hotelier named Cheon Sa Rang, who must smile due to her work. 

Recently, the 12th episode of “King the Land” has achieved a viewership rating of 11.5% in the Seoul metropolitan area and 11% nationwide (according to Nielsen Korea). Additionally, it recorded a peak viewership rating of 13.2%, garnering high attention.
