Veteran actress Kim Hee‑sun has offered a rare peek into an exclusive, invite‑only online community used by Korean celebrities in the past and it wasn’t just for fan‑chats. Appearing on the web variety show Salon Drip, she revealed that this hidden “café” was hosted on Daum and available only to verified celebrities.
Kim recalled that among its early members were none other than G‑Dragon when he was still in high school and pop singer Se7en. She said:
“We’re not in touch now, but G‑Dragon was still a high school student back then. There used to be a Daum café (online community) that only celebrities could join. You had to go through a verification process to get in… everyone there was a celebrity.”
On Se7en, she added:
“I was in my 30s and Se7en was in his 20s back then, so the age gap seemed big I jokingly called him my ‘son’. But now he’s in his 40s, and to me he still looks like a baby.”

The actress also admitted that the café was a hotbed of informal relationships and break‑ups. She revealed:
“Even within that café, people would date each other, and when they broke up, they’d cause a fuss and leave the group. Whenever we’d say, ‘This person’s going to make the news,’ sure enough, they’d end up in the headlines.”
She noted that the community is now defunct, but the memos of drama remain vivid in her memory.

Analysts and fans alike found her revelations fascinating, as they provide a behind‑the‑scenes glimpse into the social web of Korean entertainment stars during the 2000s and early 2010s. The fact that G‑Dragon and Se7en major names in K‑pop were part of this network underscores how deeply interwoven the worlds of K‑drama and K‑pop can be.
However, Kim clarified she no longer keeps close contact with all past members of that group, emphasising that the café served more as a casual space for peers, not a formal industry network.
For her part, Kim Hee‑sun continues to have a strong presence in Korean entertainment, and her candid storytelling on the Salon Drip show has reignited interest in the hidden social circles of celebrities in the digital age.
