In a YouTube video posted on August 13 titled “Kim Young-ok’s Health Routine: Even at 87, She Goes to Concerts”, veteran actress Kim Young-ok joined the crowd at MONSTA X’s show, mingling with fans decades younger than herself.
Kim’s bond with Jooheon dates back to 2016, when they met on the JTBC program Tribe of Hip Hop, where he taught her to rap. Since then, the two have remained close, with Jooheon treating her like family despite their nearly 50-year age gap.
During the concert, Kim was visibly moved by the group’s performance. “I cried at the very beginning. I can’t put into words how moved I was,” she shared, tears in her eyes. Afterward, she praised MONSTA X as “truly top-tier” and lauded their skills on stage.
Kim recently launched her own YouTube channel, “Yeongkkeul Grandma Kim Young-ok”, on August 7 to connect more directly with the public. Reflecting on the concert, she said: “I never thought I’d have such an experience at my age. It felt like a dream. I’m just grateful to be alive.”
Her heartfelt reaction and enduring bond with Jooheon have touched fans, showing that music can bridge even the widest generational divides.
