On March 13th, the press conference for the new drama “Chicken Nugget” was held at the Lotte Cinema Konkuk Univ. in Seoul.
Actress Kim Yoo-jung will make a special appearance in the drama “Chicken Nugget” as Min-ah, who enters a mysterious machine thinking it is a fatigue recovery machine and turns into a chicken nugget.
Kim Yoo-jung said, “The script was more surprising than the character. I thought it would be fun to participate in shooting together. I thought, ‘I should portray Min-ah in a fun way, as if I’m going out to have fun.’“
She continued, “I had fun experiencing something different by wearing a chicken nugget costume.”
Director Lee Byeong-heon was asked how he came up with the idea of casting Kim Yoo-jung for the role, to which he replied, “How could I think of turning Kim Yoo-jung into a chicken nugget? When I was having a meal with a representative from Kim Yoo-jung’s agency, I gave them the script and asked them, ‘What about a special appearance?’ They read the script with fun.”
He added, “It’s a blessing for me. I can’t imagine what it would have been like without Kim Yoo-jung. She suited the role so well, and even though it’s a special appearance, she appears a lot.”
The drama “Chicken Nugget” is based on the webtoon of the same name. It is a comic mystery chase drama about the struggles of a father to recover his daughter who entered a mysterious machine and turned into a chicken nugget, assisted by a man who has a crush on her.
It will be released through Netflix tomorrow (March 15th).
Directed and written by Lee Byeong-heon, known for the movie “Extreme Job” and the drama “Be Melodramatic”, the drama stars actors Ryu Seung-ryong and Ahn Jae-hong, with Kim Yoo-jung making a special appearance.
