Actor Kim Yong-gun’s 2-year-old son to enter his family register after being confirmed as his biological child through a DNA test

Actor Kim Yong-gun’s son, whose mother is A who is 39 years younger than Kim, was recently confirmed as his biological child through genetic testing.

Actor Kim Yong-gun (77) has confirmed that the 2-year-old child is his biological child through a genetic DNA test, eliminating all unnecessary misunderstandings and announcing that he is taking steps for the child to enter his family register.

According to a report by The Fact on Mar 15th, A, who claimed herself as Kim Yong-gun’s 39-year-younger girlfriend, has given birth to a healthy baby boy at K Hospital in Seoul in November last year and is seeking to receive all living expenses necessary for normal parenting. According to a close aide who knows the relationship between Kim Yong-gun and A well, it was confirmed that Kim Yong-gun and A were notified of the results of their biological child on Mar 14th, which is a week after they applied for a genetic confirmation at a university hospital in Seoul on Mar 7th.

The genetic paternity test compares and analyzes 16 STR gene positions, including the sex chromosomes, and determines one’s paternity if the result is 99.99% or more when it is necessary to verify whether one has the right of paternity for specific reasons. Usually, this test is often carried out as a preliminary step for entering a family register.

Regarding the genetic DNA test, Kim Yong-gun‘s aide B explained that day, “After A’s pregnancy was revealed, to simply prove that there is only a big age difference between them and nothing else, the test was conducted with the only intention of preventing such unnecessary misunderstanding or noise from recurring again after A announcing her childbirth.”

B also said, “As a father of a child after childbirth, Kim understands that even though he could not hide his joy, which is more than anyone else, he could not reveal his feelings to others considering various situations.” Earlier in August last year, A made headlines by revealing her long-term relationship with Kim Yong-gun and her pregnancy.

Kim Yong-gun is already emerging as a symbolic figure showing off his “vigorous old age” with the birth of a child. There are some Hollywood stars who also welcome the birth of their children in their 60s and 70s, such as Mel Gibson and Mick Jagger, but Kim Yong-gun is the only one who welcomed a child in his late 70s.

Veteran actor C in his late 60s, who requested anonymity, said, “Senior Kim Yong-gun is 10 years older than me, and I was always envious of his energetic passion as an actor. He deserves applause from everyone beyond the entertainment industry just because he has a child at this age.”

Currently, it is known that A is concentrating on raising the child without any special concerns after childbirth. Earlier, Kim Yong-gun promised all the necessary support for A. His two sons Ha Jung-woo and Cha Hyun-woo are also generously supporting their father’s decision.

Kim Yong-gun and A have maintained a good relationship for 13 years since they first met in 2008 when A was 24 years old. Conflicts arose between the two in March last year when A announced her pregnancy and Kim Yong-gun opposed A‘s childbirth. A sued Kim Yong-gun for attempting to force abortion on her, but withdrew after resolving the differences and misunderstandings between them.

Shortly after resolving their misunderstandings, Kim Yong-gun shared thoughts on A’s remarks about him forcing her to have an abortion, “Because we hadn’t promised each other anything or planned a future together, I was initially more surprised and worried than I was happy. My age and ability to raise a child, how I would be able to face my sons, how society would look upon me – all of these things came crashing down on me at once. (Although it was a bit late), I came to the obvious realization that the child is more precious than my image. I told my sons about the pregnancy, and unlike what I had worried about, (my sons) welcomed the news, saying that a new life was a blessing.”
