Kim Yo-han talked about his character in ‘School 2021’ and confessed his feelings about playing the main role in this series
Actor – WEi member Kim Yo-han expressed feelings about his appearance in ‘School 2021’.
On the evening of November 24th, the press conference for KBS2’s new Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘School 2021‘ was held online in order to prevent the pandemic spread. PD Kim Min-tae, actors Kim Yo-han, Jo Yi-hyun, Choo Yeong-woo, Hwang Boreum-byeol, and Jeon Seok-ho attended the event.
On this day, Kim Yo-han explained his character, “On his way to pursue his Taekwondo, Gong Ki-joon instantly loses his dream and wanders around. However, thanks to his friends, he regains his courage and moves forward enthusiastically. This boy seems to have a humorous side due to his clumsy and nosy characteristics.”
Regarding the similarity between him and his character in the drama, Kim Yo-han said, “The common thing is that I also play Taekwondo”. Then, he made people burst into laughter by mentioning the difference, saying, “Ki-joon lacks talent, but I have some.”
Kim Yo-han continued, “There is a scene in the drama when Ki-joon suffers from an ankle injury. I once had a severe ankle injury, so the scene reminded me of that time. While filming ‘School 2021’, I recalled a lot of my school days memories.”
“School” is KBS’s representative drama series that began in 1999. This work has also established itself as a “gateway to stardom” for various stars, such as Jang Hyuk, Bae Doo-na, Ha Ji-won, Jo In-sung, Im Soo-jung, Gong Yoo, Lee Jong-suk, Kim Woo-bin, etc.
Regarding this, Kim Yo-han shared, “Many great seniors were from the ‘School’ series and have done so well. I want to do my best not to pressure myself with that part. It’s true that I feel the burden. There is no way to not feel pressured, but I’m still trying not to get discouraged and work hard for the filming.”
KBS2’s new Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘School 2021’ will depict the growth of 18-year-old high school students who help each other overcome the barriers that appear while choosing their own path, with lessons about dreams, love, and friendship. The first episode will premiere at 9:30 P.M on November 24th.
