Shin Min-ah and Kim Woo-bin have officially announced they will marry on December 20 in a private ceremony attended only by family, close relatives and a few intimate friends, their agency AM Entertainment confirmed on November 20.
The announcement has refocused attention on the couple’s long history of generosity and quiet good deeds. Both actors have repeatedly donated to medical institutions and disaster relief causes: in 2023 they each donated ₩10 million for flooding victims, and reports say their cumulative philanthropic contributions now total approximately ₩5.1 billion. Shin Min-ah has made regular gifts to organizations such as the Hallym Burn Foundation and Seoul Asan Medical Center, while Kim Woo-bin has donated to support vulnerable patients’ medical costs at Seoul Asan.

Beyond large-scale charity, fans have celebrated the couple for small, human moments that reveal character. In a recent tvN episode of Green Bean, Red Bean spin-off (Mexico episode), Kim Woo-bin happily cheered about receiving a set of consumer coupons while paying at a fast-food restaurant — one coupon was worth just 32 won. Fellow castmate Lee Kwang-soo laughed, “See, give and it comes back,” and viewers delighted in seeing a top star enjoy such a humble pleasure.
The couple’s approachability and steady support for fans have reinforced their reputation as a beloved “good-news” couple. Last year, when an elderly longtime fan passed away, Kim Woo-bin traveled a long distance to pay respects in person; Shin Min-ah and their agency also sent flowers, a gesture that moved many.

Shortly after the marriage announcement, speculation circulated online that Shin Min-ah might be pregnant. The agency issued a clear statement to stop the rumors: “They categorically denied premarital pregnancy”. The agency also asked that people refrain from unnecessary conjecture, noting that aside from the date and private location, details such as officiant, MC, and musical performances have not been decided.
Shin Min-ah and Kim Woo-bin’s relationship began after a joint commercial shoot in 2014 and went public in 2015. Their decade-long partnership weathered a difficult period when Kim Woo-bin paused activities following a diagnosis of nasopharyngeal cancer — during which Shin Min-ah quietly stood by him. Fans and commentators have often framed their story not merely as a star couple romance but as a narrative of mutual support and resilience that culminates in this upcoming marriage.
