On October 5, Netflix Korea’s YouTube channel released a video titled “Woo Bin’s Hair Gave Birth to Kyu Pil | Here to Promote Genie, Make a Wish.” In the interview, Kim Woo Bin shared behind-the-scenes stories from both his past and current projects.

He revealed that during his role in Our Blues, the writer initially told him the shooting schedule would only take about six weeks since multiple actors were dividing the episodes. However, due to weather issues in Jeju Island and the need to coordinate with other busy cast members, his scenes ended up taking nearly six months to complete.

Kim also spoke about his big-screen comeback in Alienoid after his battle with cancer. “It had been about six years since my last project. I only took two and a half years off to focus on treatment, but because of the production and release timeline, it felt much longer,” he explained.

Remembering his first day back on set, he admitted: “I was nervous, wondering if my body could move the way it used to. The director kindly chose a short, simple scene for me to start with. But it required a lot of CGI, so I had to wear a full-body tights suit. It was embarrassing at first since I was meeting the crew like that, but in a way, starting like that made things easier.”

Discussing his latest Netflix series Genie, Make a Wish, which also features heavy CGI, Kim added: “With CG scenes, confidence is everything. You have to believe in what you’re doing, or it won’t work. This time I had to fly and ride a magic carpet, so I tried to believe in it even more.”

Kim Woo Bin’s candid reflections highlight both his resilience and humor, showing how he embraced vulnerability while regaining his footing in the industry after years of hardship.
