Kim Soo-hyun’s Perilla Leaf Scene In “Queen Of Tears” Draws Attention From Viewers

Episode 11 of tvN’s Sat-Sun drama “Queen of Tears” showed Hong Hae-in (Kim Ji-won) regaining consciousness after collapsing due to her illness. Afterward, the Yongdu-ri and Queens families led by Baek Hyun-woo (Kim Soo-hyun) and Hong Hae-in gathered at a BBQ restaurant and had a warm meal together. 

This scene is arousing significant attention on social media and online communities under the title “Kim Soo-hyun, the man who blocks the perilla leaf debate”. In particular, Baek Hyun-woo was seen removing perilla leaves by hands on his own.

“Queen of Tears” tells the romance of Hong Hae-in, a third-generation chaebol who owns Queen’s Department Store, and Baek Hyun-woo, son of Yongdu-ri and the prince of a supermarket, as they face a crisis in the third year of their marriage. The drama airs every Saturday and Sunday at 9:20 p.m.

As its rating recently soared to 20.7% nationwide (peak 22.6%) and 23.2% in the Seoul area (peak 25.2%), “Queen of Tears” continued to break its own rating record for the fifth consecutive week. The drama also proved its popularity by dominating the top spot among programs of the same broadcasting time on all channels.
