In the March 17th episode of tvN’s Saturday-Sunday drama “Queen of Tears“, Kim Soo-hyun parodied the so-called “Suzy flirting”.
In this episode, Baek Hyun-woo (played by Kim Soo-hyun) unexpectedly reveals his front teeth with a smile while buying shoes as a gift for his wife Hong Hae-in (played by Kim Ji-won). It was his version of “flirting”.
This scene closely resembled a method Suzy shared on the YouTube variety show “Jo Hyun-ah’s Thursday Night”, where she revealed her own way of flirting by showing her front teeth and smiling slightly.
This was also mentioned on other YouTube channels. Park Se-mi appeared on Kim Jae-joong’s “Jaefriends” and said, “Do you know what flirting is? Suzy did something fun recently.” She then imitated Suzy’s expression, prompting Kim Jae-joong to follow suit with an awkward expression and asking, “Is this Suzy’s thing?“
Song Kang, who appeared in “Sweet Home 2”, and NMIXX’s Haewon, while communicating with fans, also imitated the “front teeth flirting”.
Suzy also mentioned this on the YouTube variety show “Salon Drip 2”. When Jang Do-yeon mentioned Kim Jae-joong’s “front teeth flirting”, Suzy replied “I’ve seen a lot of it. It’s been distorted a lot“, making everyone laugh.
She added, “It was heavily edited at that time. I said ‘no’ but ended up smiling like that, and it turned out to be cute like flirting. I didn’t expect it to turn out like that. (Watching the broadcast) I thought, ‘This is a bit strange.’“
The “front teeth flirting”, which Suzy herself thought was “a bit strange”, was mentioned on entertainment shows and now even made its way into a drama. Particularly noteworthy is Suzy’s past collaboration with Kim Soo-hyun in KBS 2TV’s “Dream High” during their rookie years. Additionally, Suzy made a special appearance in Kim Soo-hyun’s movie “Real”. Their connection is drawing attention alongside the “front teeth flirting”.
