On February 4, Fantagio released an official statement detailing the background behind Kim Seon-ho’s establishment of the one-person corporation and the current status of corrective measures. According to the agency, Kim Seon-ho established the corporation in January 2024 for acting activities and theater production, and received settlement payments for his activities through the corporation until he signed an exclusive contract with Fantagio in February 2025.

Regarding the controversy that arose during the operation of the corporation, the agency explained, “After recognizing that the operation of the corporation itself could cause misunderstanding, there has been absolutely no substantive activity conducted through the corporation for more than the past year.”

In particular, addressing allegations of tax evasion and private use of corporate assets, Fantagio emphasized that “preemptive measures were taken to correct the lack of understanding regarding corporate operations.” According to the agency, Kim Seon-ho has returned all past corporate credit card usage, family salary payments, and corporate vehicles. In addition, for the amounts previously settled through the corporation, “personal income tax has been fully paid in addition to the already paid corporate tax.”

The corporation is currently undergoing administrative closure procedures and is nearing completion. Fantagio drew a clear line, stating, “Since signing an exclusive contract with Fantagio in February 2025, settlement payments have been made directly to the actor as an individual, and his activities with our company are unrelated to the corporation.”

Finally, the agency stated, “Actor Kim Seon-ho is deeply reflecting on the fact that he established and maintained the corporation while lacking sufficient understanding of corporate management,” and added, “We sincerely bow our heads in apology for causing confusion and concern to fans and the public.”

This controversy began on February 1, when Sports Kyunghyang reported that Kim Seon-ho had established and operated a one-person corporation registered at his Yongsan-gu residence, listing his parents as executives. The report raised suspicions of income diversion and tax evasion, alleging that Kim Seon-ho paid false salaries to his parents and used corporate credit cards for personal purposes. The controversy intensified as it emerged shortly after news broke that fellow Fantagio artist Cha Eun-woo had recently been hit with a large tax assessment for operating a similar type of family corporation.
