Kim Nam Gil appeared as a guest on the Sep 20th broadcast of tvN’s “You Quiz on the Block” (hereinafter referred to as “You Quiz”).

During the episode, host Yoo Jae Suk praised Kim Nam Gil’s memorable action scenes in various works, particularly mentioning the character Bidam in the drama “Queen Seondeok”, which made a significant impact at that time. Yoo Jae Suk also highlighted that Kim Nam Gil passed the 2003 Talent Audition conducted annually by MBC and landed the role of Bidam 6 years later, becoming a top-ranked talent.

Yoo Jae Suk then inquired about Kim Nam Gil’s feelings when he heard that BTS Jin considered him a role model after watching his performance in “Queen Seondeok”. Kim Nam Gil responded that it is touching to hear that he became a role model for someone and noted that he met Jin in person. He mentioned that they share similar personalities and that Jin is known for his pure-heartedness and talkative nature.

The conversation shifted to Kim Nam Gil’s experiences working with senior actresses, including Kim Hye Soo, Oh Yeon Soo and Jeon Do Yeon. He spoke highly of Kim Hye Soo’s professionalism and how she indirectly taught him how to act on set. He also mentioned that Oh Yeon Soo provided valuable advice during their work together.

Regarding Jeon Do Yeon, Kim Nam Gil revealed that she seemed to understand him without him saying much and could sense his concerns and thoughts. She shared her own experiences and suggested that they face challenges together, which contributed to his growth as an actor.

Kim Nam Gil also discussed a challenging period in his career when he worked on the film “The Pirates”. During that time, he questioned whether he was cut out for acting and felt overwhelmed by pressure. However, he realized that he did not have to carry everything on his own, and even if he had limitations, others around him could fill in the gaps.

Yoo Jae Suk expressed empathy, mentioning the importance of sharing responsibilities with colleagues.
