On October 27, during a live broadcast titled “Special Interview with CEO Kang Taepoong and Supervisor Oh Mi-seon”, hosted by PD Na Young-seok, the main leads of the tvN weekend drama Typhoon Family, Lee Junho and Kim Min-ha, made a guest appearance.
PD Na couldn’t help but bring up Kim Min-ha’s standout English speech scene in the drama. “Be honest. Was someone holding the English script in front of you during that scene?” he asked with playful suspicion.
Kim Min-ha replied, “No, no one was holding anything.” Lee Junho chimed in, “She only got that script a few days before filming.” Na Young-seok was visibly impressed, commenting, “Some people already know this, but she’s amazing in English. A real English whiz.”
To that, Kim Min-ha humbly shared, “Yes, I’m quite fluent. I did study abroad a few times, but actually, I’ve spent much more time studying in Korea. That’s why I could relate to my character Mi-seon, who self-studied. The joy of showing results after studying hard—I totally felt that.”

PD Na reflected on her performance, saying, “Originally, that scene wasn’t meant to be emphasized, but we highlighted it on purpose. It showed the growth of someone who studied hard, prepared with excitement, and finally shone brightly.”
Kim Min-ha added, “Mi-seon really embodies the feeling that dreams do come true. She once gave up on college entrance exams and her dreams, but now, like in a movie, she’s achieving them. It’s a hopeful message—‘someday, even I can shine as a proud company woman.’”

PD Na agreed, “When she gave that English speech, I thought, ‘Wow, if we had a colleague like her, we’d feel so proud.’” Lee Junho said, “That’s why my final expression was so full of pride. It was like saying, ‘Sorry I can’t do more as your boss. All I do is pass film reels while you shine on stage.’”
When asked again why her English was so good, Kim Min-ha revealed, “I studied a lot at academies. Honestly, I’ve been learning English for as long as I can remember. It’s all about time and effort.”
PD Na then encouraged viewers, “See? If you work hard, you can do it too.”
