On August 23rd, the press conference for Apple TV+’s “Pachinko 2″ was held at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The event was attended by Youn Yuh-jung, Lee Min-ho, Kim Min-ha, Jung Eun-chae and Kim Sung-kyu, who shared various stories related to the work.
Kim Min-ha plays the role of Sunja in her younger years, who chose to live as an outsider to live with dignity.
Kim Min-ha commented, “Compared to Season 1, Season 2 takes place seven years later. I thought a lot about how to accurately reflect the passage of time.“
She continued “As my children continue to grow and the relationship with my sons is more prominent, I have thought a lot about maternal love“, indicating that family dynamics will be a focal point.
Meanwhile, “Pachinko” tells a story that begins with forbidden love and unfolds across Korea, Japan and the United States, chronicling unforgettable tales of war and peace, love and separation, triumph and judgment. Season 2 picks up seven years after Season 1, starting in 1945 Osaka, and will portray Sunja’s (Kim Min-ha) efforts to protect her family amidst the looming threat of World War II. New episodes will be released every Friday through Apple TV+ until October 11th, starting from the first episode on August 23rd.
