Kim Jong Kook revealed past experiences in the US, including discrimination, and tips to learn English, earning praises from netizens.
On February 15th, at the Daum Cafe “Women’s Generation”, an article titled “Kim Jong Kook’s English conversation method that actually works” was published and gained attention.
The article contains a scene from the video “Sports and English have many similarities…”, which was published on Kim Jong Kook’s official YouTube channel in September 2022. Here, Kim Jong Kook explains how to study English with a YouTube PD and an academy instructor he is close to.
In particular, Kim Jong Kook said, “First, you have to start with ‘Me’. You have to be able to talk about yourself in English. From head to toe.”
“As you explain yourself, you must be able to talk about your family, your hobby, your education, your current occupation, and everything”, he explained..

It’s also important to not be shy to talk, Jong Kook said, revealing that if people keep practicing with confidence and not give up, their mistakes will be fixed later on.
Lastly, Kim Jong Kook emphasized, “My tip for pronunciation is not to approach it as vocabulary
or a language. But instead, I approached it as sound, like music”. The male star would also imitate native speakers with similarities to him, in order to influence his accent.
