On the August 23 episode of the YouTube show “깡시안”, host Lee Si-an brought up the news, saying, “I heard you’re now a ₩6.2 billion building owner.” Kim Jong-kook corrected him, saying, “It’s not a building—it’s a house. And it’s not an investment. I bought it to live in.”
Lee Si-an then asked if he had paid in full cash. Kim Jong-kook responded honestly, “Yes. I didn’t want to pay interest.” He laughed as he added, “There’s nothing to envy here. I’ve never been lucky with money. Even when I try investing, it just doesn’t work. So I just earn and save by working.”
Despite being seen as financially stable, Kim Jong-kook downplayed the glamour. “I wouldn’t recommend others follow my way. Most people are investing smart these days, and I encourage that. But for me, the best investment is staying healthy.”

The topic of his wedding wasn’t discussed during the video, but a post-caption at the end read: “Kim Jong-kook’s wedding news was announced after this shoot. Congratulations!” suggesting the announcement came shortly after the filming.
The home in question is a luxury villa in Nonhyeon-dong, and news of its price tag had stirred buzz online. However, Kim Jong-kook’s matter-of-fact, grounded response emphasized that he’s simply focused on living within his means, without relying on loans or speculation.
