Actor Kim Ji-hoon surprised viewers with his extraordinary intelligence on the October 8 episode of MBC’s Radio Star.
The episode, themed “You’re Still in the Game”, featured guests Jang Jin, Kim Ji-hoon, Kim Kyung-ran, and Choi Ye-na, who joined the panel to share behind-the-scenes stories and personal confessions.
During the broadcast, Kim Ji-hoon, known for portraying quirky and offbeat characters in shows like Crime Scene, opened up about his real-life intellect. “I’ve played a lot of weird characters from someone with alopecia to a student with a pet doll but in real life, I actually like studying. I was quite good at it. I only got two questions wrong in the CSAT math section,” he said proudly.
When he revealed his IQ exceeds 150 and that he was a full scholarship student for four years, the hosts were visibly impressed.

MCs joked, “That’s Mensa-level! He could be the face of Mensa Korea!” while filmmaker Jang Jin teased, “Are you sure you’re not talking about your blood pressure instead of IQ?”
Jang Jin humorously continued, recalling their time together on Crime Scene: “He’s really smart, but sometimes he makes ridiculous guesses. Once, we could’ve won ₩1 million if we caught the culprit, but he went in the wrong direction and cost us the prize. I couldn’t believe it.”
Embarrassed yet laughing, Kim Ji-hoon admitted, “I still wake up at night sometimes because I’m so ashamed of that moment. It haunted me for weeks.”
Despite often playing eccentric or awkward roles, Kim Ji-hoon has built a solid reputation as one of Korea’s most versatile actors. His ability to balance intelligence, humor, and emotional depth has made him a favorite among fans of variety and drama alike.
His appearance on Radio Star reminded viewers that behind his comedic timing lies a sharp, analytical mind — one that might just make him one of Korea’s most charming “brainy heartthrobs.”
