On the September 6th broadcast of KBS 2TV’s “Convenience Store Restaurant”, Kim Jaejoong visits his parents’ home on his day off. Despite his busy schedule, Jaejoong is known for always thinking of his parents, and the deep love between Kim Jaejoong, the youngest of nine siblings, and his parents is expected to bring warmth and emotion to viewers.
In the episode’s VCR segment, Kim Jaejoong is seen arriving at his parents’ home with gifts in both hands. His parents eagerly came out to greet him, their eyes filled with joy. Upon seeing his mother, Jaejoong hugged her tightly and playfully said “Why is my mom so pretty today?“, bringing a smile to her face.
What grabbed attention next was Kim Jaejoong’s family home. Revealed for the first time on the show, the house is a massive four-story mansion, including an underground garage. It features a giant garage in the basement, a first floor with 7-meter-high ceilings, a second floor with a resort-like large terrace, and a third floor with four bedrooms and five bathrooms, enough to accommodate the large family. The “Convenience Store Restaurant” cast was astonished, likening it to the rich family’s house in the movie “Parasite”.
Beyond the sheer size, what stood out most were the details reflecting Jaejoong’s filial love. The house, which is estimated to be worth around 6 billion won, was a gift from Kim Jaejoong to his parents, and he was deeply involved in the design process to ensure every detail was perfect for them. A home elevator was installed so that his elderly parents could easily move between floors, and the house also features a large bath and a hinoki sauna tailored to their needs. The kitchen was designed to fit his mother’s petite height, showing Jaejoong’s thoughtful consideration.
What was even more touching was Kim Jaejoong’s affectionate and playful behavior toward his parents throughout his stay. Adopted by his current parents at the age of four, Jaejoong reflected, “When I was little, our family was happy but not financially well-off. So, I always had the desire that when I became financially stable, I would build my parents a large and nice house.” He revealed that he spent over a year meticulously building the home for them.
