Actress Kim Hye-yoon is reportedly joining SBS’s upcoming legal drama Good Partner 2 as its new female lead, starring alongside Jang Na-ra.

According to an industry source on November 5 (KST), Kim Hye-yoon has received an offer for the main role in Good Partner 2 and is in the final stages of discussion.
The original Good Partner aired from July to September 2024 and became a major hit, recording a peak viewership rating of 17.7% (Nielsen Korea). The series depicted the intense yet heartwarming daily lives of divorce lawyers navigating complex personal and professional relationships.

In Season 2, Kim Hye Yoon will reportedly play a new divorce lawyer who becomes Jang Na-ra’s on-screen partner, replacing actress Nam Ji-hyun, who portrayed a rookie attorney in Season 1. Due to scheduling conflicts, Nam Ji-hyun will not appear in the sequel.
“The new season focuses on Jang Na-ra’s character Cha Eun-kyung and a new lawyer who grows alongside her,” the source explained.
Kim Hye-yoon, known for her bright and spirited acting style, has starred in popular works such as tvN’s Lovely Runner, MBC’s Extraordinary You, and tvN’s Secret Royal Inspector & Joy. Fans are particularly excited to see her transformation into a sharp, determined lawyer — a role that could mark a new phase in her career.
“Her clear diction and confident image make her perfect for a legal drama,” fans commented online.

Following the massive success of Lovely Runner, which became a cultural sensation earlier this year, Kim Hye-yoon went on to win the PRIZM Popularity Award at the 61st Baeksang Arts Awards.
She is currently preparing for several upcoming projects, including SBS’s Human from Today and the film Salmokji (Working Title).
Production for Good Partner 2 is expected to begin once casting for main and supporting roles is finalized, with the broadcast scheduled for the second half of 2026.
