Actress Kim Hieora has spoken candidly about her past school bullying controversy and her return to the spotlight with her first commercial film, Savior. On October 22, the press screening and media conference for Savior was held at CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall in Seoul, with director Shin Joon and cast members Kim Byung-chul, Song Ji-hyo, and Kim Hieora in attendance.
Kim Hieora rose to prominence through her roles in the Netflix original series The Glory and the drama The Uncanny Counter Season 2. However, in September 2023, she faced school bullying allegations that led to a temporary halt in her activities. At the time, her agency clarified that while she had associated with so-called “school bullies,” she had never participated in any acts of bullying herself.

Following a period of self-reflection, Kim issued a public statement in April 2024 expressing her desire to support each person’s life journey, signaling her intent to return. She officially resumed activities through the musical Frida in July and is now making her commercial film debut with Savior.
At the press event, Kim stated, “I had previously shared my position through my agency. There were some concerns, and I met directly with the individuals involved. Through in-depth conversations, we cleared up the misunderstandings. Since then, we’ve been supporting each other’s lives and have remained in contact.”

She added, “I never felt bitter about not being able to work. I accepted it as part of what I needed to experience. There wasn’t a single day when I didn’t think about acting. During that time, I grew stronger and became more reflective, and then miraculously, I was offered this amazing project. While playing Chun-seo, I poured everything into the role. I realized that even the ordinary things I once took for granted were, in fact, miracles. I’ve learned to be grateful and will continue forward with humility.”
Savior, a mystery occult film centered on strange events unfolding in the seemingly blessed village of Obok-ri, is set to premiere on November 5.
