Actress Kim Hee-sun is in mourning following the passing of her mother, Park Bok-soon, on October 2. She was 86 years old.
According to reports, Kim Hee-sun is currently at the funeral hall with her family, receiving mourners in deep sorrow. Her husband, Park Joo-young, and their daughter, Yeon-ah, are also listed as chief mourners.
The wake is being held at Seoul Asan Hospital Funeral Hall, Room 30, with the funeral scheduled for October 4 at 4:40 a.m. The burial will take place at Seoul Memorial Park.
This marks another tragedy for the actress, who previously lost her father in 2018.
Kim Hee-sun has often spoken fondly of her mother in broadcasts. On the 2021 TV Chosun program Heo Young-man’s Food Travel, she shared: “I’m an only daughter, and my mom had me later in life. She always said she wanted a beautiful child and avoided eating anything that wasn’t good for looks.”
These past remarks are now resurfacing, moving fans and sparking a wave of condolences and encouragement for the actress during this difficult time.
