Kim Hee Sun, “I feel sorry for my husband because he only sees me in pajamas at home and I don’t wash my hair for days”
Actress Kim Hee Sun boasted about her lovely family, from her talented daughter to her considerate husband and in-laws.
Kim Hee Sun guested on episode 207 of tvN’s entertainment program “You Quiz on the Block”, which aired on August 16th. She recently made her comeback on the big screen after a long time through the movie “Honeysweet”, acting alongside actor Yoo Hae Jin.
Revealing that her daughter Yeon Ah was born in 2009 and is currently a second-year middle school student, Kim Hee Sun said, “Her personality resembles her dad’s a lot”, adding “Even if she has to stay up late to do homework, she will finish it today instead of putting it off until tomorrow. Although she’s still a child, I sometimes envy her.”
Yoo Jae Suk, who is raising a son around the same age as Yeon Ah, showed admiration for Yeon Ah’s talents upon seeing her beautiful notebook and asked Kim Hee Sun for her parenting tips. In response, Kim Hee Sun advised, “We shouldn’t force children to do things. I encourage her to read by reading scripts in front of her. My husband also likes reading books”.
Getting praised for her beauty, Kim Hee Sun said she appreciates people who say she looks pretty even though she’s already in her 40s. Yoo Jae Suk then asked for Kim Hee Sun’s reaction to her beauty, the actress said, “I feel sorry for my husband the most”, adding “I only wear makeup while filming. At home, I don’t even wash my face and my hair for three days and he only sees me in pajamas”.
Apart from her her daughter and husband, Kim Hee Sun also shared a funny anecdote about her mother-in-law, who secretly paid the bill while she was having a drink with her friends. Acknowledging that she’s a heavy drinker, the actress said, “My mother-in-law happened to pass by me when I was drinking with some friends in my neighborhood. She paid for it but later texted me, ‘Oh my, you drank 4 bottles. I can’t allow that. Drink 3 next time’”.
She continued, “I used to live in my in-laws’ house for a month after I got engaged to my husband. When I slept in my husband’s room, there were notes from my father-in-law and mother-in-law reminding me to have hangover relief drinks and alcohol broth they prepared in the house. They treated me like their own daughter”.
The actress then revealed her concerns about her six-year hiatus after getting married and having children, saying “While I was holding the baby and feeding her, I watched TV and the actors I used to work with were doing some great projects. I felt like I was falling behind them and wondered if I could still be an actress”. She then confessed, “However, when the roles that fit my age and can handle them well came to me, I became more confidence and positive to act again.”
Meanwhile, Kim Hee Sun married her businessman husband in 2007 and has a daughter.
