Kim Go-eun Mentions Her Burnout After ‘Goblin’, “I Got Scared Of Meeting People”

On February 4th, Jung Jae-hyung’s YouTube channel uploaded a new video featuring the guest appearance of actress Kim Go-eun.

Kim Go-eun, who received 8 awards for her debut film “A Muse”, said, “I felt relieved and I thought, ‘I could really become an actress if I take one step further’. That was the best I could do at that time”. Regarding her first drama “Cheese in the Trap”, she shared, “I guess I was very scared but I did it because of my grandmother. I lived with her for about 6 years and she really likes TV dramas, so I thought I should do it for my grandmother”

Recalling when she filmed “Goblin”, Kim Go-eun said, “Even during the filming, I didn’t understand the whole story. There were many parts of ‘Cheese in the Trap’ that made me feel concerned. They told me to act freely so I did a cooking scene and filmed 40 cuts. I thought the filming was tough but the staff followed my movements and eyes meticulously. I didn’t realize that. As I continued acting, I began to catch up with the process. I guess the staff must have had a hard time. I learned a lot from the filming of ‘Goblin’”.

Kim Go-eun chose the movie “Sunset in My Hometown” as her next project after “Goblin”. In this regard, she confessed, “I had a burnout after ‘Goblin’ ended. I got scared of meeting people, and I felt like I couldn’t meet anyone. I realized how many times these moments would come, and every time, I believed that I must work hard on every work“, adding, “Fortunately, my role was supporting the lead actor Park Jung-min, so I felt like there was nothing to be afraid of. I also heard a lot of stories about how happy it was to film with Director Lee Jun-ik, so I wanted to try it.”

Regarding “Exhuma”, Kim Go-eun said, “The script was very new. I kept imagining things after reading the script and I thought it would be very interesting to watch other actors’ performances. I really wanted to work with senior actor Min-sik. There are not many opportunities for us to work together”.
