Actress Kim Go-eun broke down in tears during the press conference for Netflix’s upcoming series You and Everything Else, held on September 5 at the Ambassador Seoul Pullman Hotel. The event was attended by Kim Go-eun, Park Ji-hyun, and director Jo Young-min.

The series tells the story of Eun-jung and Sang-yeon, two friends whose relationship spans decades—filled with admiration, jealousy, love, and resentment—capturing the beauty and pain of a lifelong bond. Their evolving connection is portrayed from their teenage years through their 40s, showcasing a wide emotional spectrum.

Park Ji-hyun shared that when Sang-yeon reunites with Eun-jung in her 40s, she asks her dearest friend to accompany her in facing death. Hearing this, Kim Go-eun broke down in uncontrollable sobs, covering her face as she struggled to speak.

“This is my emotional trigger,” Kim admitted tearfully. “That’s why this project is so precious to me. I kept asking myself, ‘How could I possibly let her go? How can I send her off well?’ That thought alone made me cry.”

Park Ji-hyun later expressed gratitude for Kim’s support, saying, “I was able to fully immerse myself in the role because Go-eun was there as Eun-jung in front of me. Just as Eun-jung is to Sang-yeon, Go-eun is that kind of presence to me.”

Kim Go-eun added, “I felt countless times how lucky I was that Ji-hyun was Sang-yeon. That sense of reassurance cannot be put into words. When I first met the writer, they mentioned this story might be about those who remain. Even when accompanying Sang-yeon, I thought deeply about the life Eun-jung would continue afterward. That was the heaviest feeling for me.”

You and Everything Else will premiere worldwide on Netflix on September 12.
