Kim Go-eun and IU donated to help victims of the forest fire in Uljin

Actress Kim Go-eun and singer IU contributed donations to support people being affected by the wildfire in Uljin.

On March 5th, Kim Go-eun and IU sent donations of 50 million won and 100 million won, respectively, through the Hope Bridge Disaster Relief Association to help the victims of the Uljin forest fire that broke out on the 4th. Their donations will be used to support temporary houses for those who have lost their homes. 

Actress Kim Go-eun said, “I’m really worried about those who have lost their homes due to the wildfire”, adding, “I hope the situation will get better quickly and the fire won’t spread again. Hope that many people will join hands to help the residents and firefighters there”.

The Secretary-General of the Hope Bridge Disaster Relief Association Kim Jung-hee thanked IU, “With IU’s warm heart, we will do our best to provide all the necessary things to the victims of forest fires until they return to their normal life”

Both Kim Go-eun and IU have been steadily spreading good influence and carrying out donations for many years. Kim Go-eun donated 20 million won to low-income families suffering from Covid-19 in 2019 and 50 million won to help vulnerable children in 2021. Meanwhile, IU is known to have donated more than 1.5 billion won in 2021.
