KBS Drama Criticized For Irresponsible Kindergarten Setting

“Without Blood Or Tears” made viewers uncomfortable with its unreasonable setting.

The latest episode of KBS2’s daily drama “Without Blood Or Tears,” which aired on the afternoon of April 8th, caused controversy due to an excessive setting.

In the broadcast, Lee Hye-ji (played by Bae Do-eun and Ha Yeon-ju) visited Lee Hye-won (Lee So-yeon)’s little son Yong-gi (Im So-ha) at his kindergarten when classes were over. She approached him, saying, “You are Yong-gi, right? You look smart.” The fact that the drama shows a stranger casually approach a child is enough to create a controversy in Korea.

Such a setup made viewers uncomfortable. Viewers criticized the drama for showing that the kindergarten letting the child leave after school without a guardian, and a strange adult easily approach the child.

In fact, “Without Blood or Tears” has been mired in a series of controversies. Original writer Kim Kyung-hee has been replaced by Jin Yu-ri from the 35th episode because the production team and Kim Kyung-hee reportedly had conflicts over the storyline of the drama.
