The girl group Kara will release the digital single “I Do I Do” on various music sites at 6 p.m. on July 24th. The single contains a total of two songs, “I Do I Do” and “Hello”, Kara’s first song as a full group of six members with the addition of the late member Goo Ha-ra’s voice.
In an interview ahead of the single release, Kara shared various stories about their comeback preparation.
Regarding their feelings about making a comeback after one year and 8 months, the members shared, “It still feels like a dream now, I’m glad we can present to you guys Kara’s lovely side with a summer song”, adding “This single is more meaningful as it contains the members’ messages for fans.”
Introducing their title song “I Do I Do”, Park Gyu-ri said, “It’s a catchy summer song with a refreshing sound that goes well with the members’ cool vocals. The lyrics are about our belief that anything is possible if we have the members and fans together.” Han Seung-yeon added, “This song is about members’ friendship and it’s like a promise to fans”. When asked about the differences between “I Do I Do” and other summer songs by Kara, Park Gyu-ri said, “This time, we chose an easy-listening song”.
The b-side track “Hello” is very meaningful to Kara, and the members also explained the reason they decided to release this song. Park Gyu-ri said, “We wanted to present it to fans who have waited for our comeback for a long time as a gift. By adding Ha-ra’s voice, we finally completed a song with the voices of six members. Since Ha-ra also wanted Kara to make a comeback when she was alive, ‘Hello’ has a very special meaning not only for fans but also for Ha-ra and all the members”.
Han Seung-yeon also shared, “It took us a long time to come up with the decision to release this song. We think about this song first every time, but it is not until now that the song will finally be released. We had some vague thoughts that, ‘We can do it’, ‘Isn’t it the right time?’, ‘We want to let fans know that we actually had a song like this’, ‘We had a memory like this’, etc. and decided to take a step further. I’m sure that this is the most meaningful song in our lives”.
Nicole confessed, “‘Hello’ is an unreleased song we recorded as a full team back in 2013. We prepared this song because we wanted to make a comeback as a whole group. It was not easy to do it, so we hope it will be a precious gift to our fans”. Kang Ji-young said, “It’s like a miracle that we can have six voices in one song like this!”. Heo Young-ji added, “I was able to think of my memories with Goo Ha-ra when singing and preparing for this song”.
Lastly, the members also expressed their sincerity towards fans and asked everyone to look forward to Kara’s comeback.
