On April 29, Kang Mina sat down for an interview at a café in Samcheong-dong, Seoul, where she discussed her latest Netflix series “If Wishes Could Kill” and her career journey.
Originally debuting through Produce 101 and later promoting as part of I.O.I, Kang Mina has remained a beloved figure among fans. With the group recently announcing a 10th-anniversary reunion, her absence quickly became a hot topic.

Addressing the situation, she explained: “I believe the reunion project had been in preparation since last year. At the time, I was already filming a project, and I also had upcoming schedules and promotional activities. I felt it was best to let the members know I wouldn’t be able to participate.”
Despite not joining the reunion, Kang Mina emphasized that her relationship with the members remains strong.
“We’re so close that we support each other even without saying it out loud. Even just liking a post on social media conveys that support,” she shared, reassuring fans about their enduring friendship.
Marking her 10th anniversary since debut, Kang Mina expressed a mix of pride and self-reflection.
“I often wonder if I can confidently say I’m a 10-year veteran. I’m working hard to become an actress who matches that experience, and I’m thinking a lot about how I should move forward.”

The actress also opened up about her evolving mindset toward acting.
“A few years ago, I felt very anxious and wondered if I was falling behind. But that anxiety actually helped me grow,” she admitted. “Now, I feel like I understand myself better, so that anxiety has lessened. I just want to become stronger as an actress.”
Kang Mina currently stars in Netflix’s “If Wishes Could Kill”, a thriller series about high school students who receive death warnings through a mysterious wish-granting app.
Since its release on April 24, the show has recorded approximately 2.8 million views and ranked No. 4 on Netflix’s Global Top 10 Non-English TV shows highlighting her growing influence as an actress.
