On the September 29 broadcast of SBS PowerFM’s “Escape at 2 O’Clock Cultwo Show,” Kang Daniel appeared as a guest, marking his comeback after a year and three months with his new song “Electric Shock.”
During the broadcast, Kang Daniel mentioned that he is scheduled to enlist in the military next year, saying, “I’m finally going.” He added, “I dropped out of high school and took the GED because I wanted to enlist at 19, but there were so many applicants that I got pushed back.”
He also opened up about the tough times he experienced due to conflicts with his former agency, saying, “I didn’t leave my house for three months. I didn’t exercise, just played games and worked on music, and I ended up losing a lot of weight.”
Kang Daniel, who celebrated the 5th anniversary of his solo debut this past July, is preparing for a solo concert in October. He shared, “It’s meaningful because it’s at the same venue where I held my concert in Seoul two years ago. Over the past year and three months, I’ve worked hard on my vocals, so fans will feel something new.”
In a previous interview to commemorate his comeback, Kang Daniel revealed his plans for military enlistment. He stated, “I plan to enlist in the Army next year, and I hope to enlist around the end of next summer.”
