Kakao Entertainment is set to follow its impressive first-half success with titles like When Life Gives You Tangerines, Karma, and Nine Puzzles by launching a high-profile lineup of dramas for the latter half of 2025.
Leveraging its robust studio system and in-house IP, the company continues to strengthen synergy between its production teams and expand its webtoon-to-screen adaptation strategy. According to Netflix’s Engagement Report, three Kakao Enter productions ranked among the platform’s Global TOP 100 Korean series for the first half of 2025:
- When Life Gives You Tangerines — 19th place, 34.8M views
- When the Phone Rings — 77th place, 14.3M views
- Karma — 92nd place, 12.7M views
Both Karma and When the Phone Rings were adapted from Kakao Enter’s webtoon and web novel IP, showcasing the company’s expertise in transforming popular source material into compelling dramas.
For the second half of 2025, Kakao Enter promises to maintain momentum with an A-list cast lineup and genre-spanning stories:
“The Mantis: Original Sin” (Sept 5, SBS)
A gripping crime thriller produced by Mega Monster with Merry Christmas and Movie Production Boim. Detective Jang Dong-yoon teams up with his estranged mother — the infamous serial killer “Mantis” played by Go Hyun-jung — to catch a copycat killer two decades after her arrest.
“You and Everything Else” (Sept 12, Netflix)
Directed by Jo Young-min and written by Song Hye-jin, this emotional drama stars Kim Go-eun and Park Ji-hyun as lifelong friends navigating decades of love, rivalry, and reconciliation. The series will stream in over 190 countries simultaneously.
“Eun-soo Good Day” (Sept 20, KBS2)
