K-pop Boy Group Mistreated Again After Escaping Abusive Agency

Fans of this K-pop boy group are showing intense reactions as the group’s new agency is once again treating them poorly

Back in 2022, K-pop boy group OMEGA X gained attention after filing a lawsuit against its old agency. In particular, the group sued the company CEO, Kang Seung-hee, for mistreatment, sexual harassment, and forcing the group to perform despite they having contracted COVID-19.

In the end, the court ruled in favor of OMEGA X, allowing the group to move to a new company and continue their activities. However, history seems to be repeating with the group, as the new company, IPQ, was discovered to have a dark history, even having produced pornography.

On top of this, during their North American tour, OMEGA X worked with the organizer Studio PAV, and one of Studio PAV’s managers, whose name is Kelly, was spotted shouting at the members and even physically hurting OMEGA X’s fans.

In particular, fans claimed that Kelly shouted in OMEGA X’s Yechan’s face, demanding him to not make heart poses for fans. Another member, Taedong, also shared that he was banned from making heart poses.

Meanwhile, Kelly also physically stopped fans and screamed at their faces when fans approached the boy group.

Against these claims, however, Studio PAV denied having done any of the aforementioned action, and even threatened to sue due to fans having no evidence. In response, fans of OMEGA X said that they couldn’t get any footage of the incident since the event implemented a no-phone policy. These fans also expressed their frustrations and declared that they would fight for OMEGA X until the end, having already been through numerous difficulties with the group.

Meanwhile, back in 2022, a netizen published a video showing the CEO of OMEGA X’s former agency shouting and physically hitting the boy group.

Later on, Korean broadcasting station SBS investigated the claims, while OMEGA X filed a lawsuit against the agency and held a press conference with lawyers to terminate their contracts.

The CEO was said to have also sexually harassed the members

At the time, according to the group’s leader Jaehan, the CEO would hit the members as they waited for food, forced them to drink alcohol, and often sexually harassed them.

“She touched the members’ thighs and put her face close to theirs so they could feel her breath”, Jaehan said, adding, “She also used derogatory words to insult the members, and threatened us and told us to kneel in front of her if we want to continue working”.

Jaehan explained that OMEGA X held on despite the abuse because the CEO would threaten to cancel their next album. However, they were unable to endure, and eventually won the lawsuit and got their contracts terminated.
