K-netizens Slam BTS Fans for Criticizing NewJeans’ Acceptance Speech 

Recently, a topic titled “BTS overseas fandom is mad over NewJeans’ acceptance speech yesterday, in which they expressed their gratitude to CEO Min Hee-jin” was published on the Korean forum Instiz and drew huge attention.

The topic in question cited various comments from BTS fans regarding NewJeans’ acceptance speech, most of them hating on the girl group. 

In particular, comments like “I can’t believe they had the audacity to do this on her (LE SSERAFIM’s Eunchae) show”, “These girls are stupid and hateful for saying this next to the girl that got her life ruined by the CEO they are praising”, and “Looking forward to their downfall” are quoted, proving that international BTS fans are critical of NewJeans’ acceptance speech. 

Upon seeing these reactions, however, K-netizens were quick to defend NewJeans, pointing out that the aforementioned fans are not Korean and as fans of BTS, have nothing to do with the Min Hee-jin situation. 

The topic also mentioned that BTS fans spread incorrect articles about Min Hee-jin’s press conference, causing unnecessary hatred and misinformation.

• I don’t know if it’s because they’re overseas fans or if it’s the fan mentality, but why do they equate BTS and HYBE? BTS is not HYBE, and they should focus on BTS instead of defending HYBE
• These overseas fans are really crazy huh. Do they seriously think they know more than Korean about an issue in Korea? 
• Those company fans are disgusting 
• Why are they defending HYBE and criticizing NewJeans. Are they HYBE fans instead of BTS fans? 
• Such behavior are seriously so creepy
• If they don’t understand the entire situation, they should have kept their mouth shut 
• They are yapping so loudly despite not knowing everything
