K-netizens Criticized YG For Holding National Auditions Right After BAEMON’s Debut

YG Entertainment will hold auditions for a large-scale nationwide tour

YG Entertainment announced that it will hold the 2024 YG National Audition Tour from Jan. 13 to Feb. 18 next year. Auditions will begin in Jeju on Jan. 13, then tour cities across the country, including Gwangju on Jan. 20, Jeonju on Jan. 21, Busan on Jan. 27, Daegu on Jan. 28, Daejeon on Feb. 3, Wonju on Feb. 4, and Seoul on Feb. 17.

Upon hearing this news, many Korean netizens on the popular online community theqoo have left comments criticizing the company for holding auditions right after debuting BABYMONSTER.

Netizens are angry at the lack of promotion for BAEMON. In addition, as the rookie group has just debuted, it is likely for the new trainees to be kept in the YG “dungeon” for a long time.

Some of the comments are as below:

“I thought they were out of their mind”
“Now??”
“I thought it’s BAEMON’s schedule…”
How long do you want to keep them in your jewelry box this time?”
“? Let’s focus on BAEMON first”
“??”
“I guess some executives wanted to go on a national tour”
“Why should an entertainment company that vividly shows the scene of Korean drug cartels and illegal sex trafficking and has not been punished survive like that? Always wondering.”

After only a day, the topic has been viewed approximately 85,000 times on theqoo and more comments are being made.
