Starbucks, along with many other Western brands, are being boycotted for supporting Israel in its war with Palestine. The brand even came as far as suing its staffs for voicing their support for Palestine.

After his behavior became controversial, a fan has left a message on Weverse to ask for Jake apologize and educate himself. The idol replied to this post, apologized and thanked his fan.

However, Korean netizens are not happy with international fans’ actions. Many have flooded the comment section of Nate Pann to show their anger.

Some of the comments are as follows,

“You (foreign fans) don’t even spend money to support, but you’re going nuts the most on Twitter. Don’t get together to go nuts like that. Why don’t you just go protesting in front of Starbucks in your country instead?”

“They are nuts. They don’t know anything about our Dokdo conflict with Japan but try to voice their 2-face opinions. Now they are telling us to educate ourselves on Justice. Knowing that these people probably don’t even have membership makes me sign.”

“He shouldn’t take those useless things and ignore them.”

“Really, foreign fans are so disappointing in this incident. When Korea conflicted with Japan, did we force foreigners not to buy Japanese products and fight on the Internet? We boycotted the event by posting pictures among ourselves. Let’s look deeper into the issue of journalism. Let’s take an example from the Japanese colonial era, where both Japanese and Jewish have capital and power, and both Korean and Palestinians were weak in the past, and what did Korea do? We fought directly against Japan and sent diplomats to let other countries such as the United States know about the current situation and help us. What they are doing is plastered all over the place and terrorism. I felt sorry after reading the news a few months ago, but now my thoughts have changed completely.”

“Why is he apologizing for that? Starbucks Korea was operated separately in the first place, so it’s not related to Starbucks at all. Deal with it”
