K-Drama Actresses Who Are Beautiful and Talented, But Have Unstable Careers

The careers of these actresses have been inconsistent despite their potential.

The Korean entertainment industry is a harsh and unpredictable environment. Even with beauty and talent, it is not easy to maintain a stable career. Here are some K-Drama goddesses who have both beauty and talent, but their career is unstable.

Seo Ji Hye

Seo Ji Hye entered the industry in the early 2000s, but it was not until recent years that her name became more known to the public. Despite being beautiful and talented, not all of her roles can make an impression.

Seo Ji Hye

In 2019, Seo Ji Hye started gaining recognition for her role as Seo Dan in “Crash Landing on You”. Her luxurious fashion style and stunning appearance were frequently discussed. Many even compared her supporting character to the female lead, Son Ye Jin.

Although her career was expected to progress well, many of Seo Ji Hye’s subsequent works were stuck in a rut. Some regrettable works include “Dinner Mate”, “Dr. Brain”, “Kiss Sixth Sense”, and more. Even when she starred in “Adamas” as the female lead alongside her senior, Ji Sung, Seo Ji Hye still could not achieve the expected success.

However, in 2023, Seo Ji Hye stepped out of her comfort zone and quickly revived her name. Through her character as a mistress in “Red Balloon”, she achieved amazing success.

For Seo Ji Hye, we can see that she is a talented and charming actress. However, her character and script selection were a bit too safe before. Hopefully, after the success of “Red Balloon”, Seo Ji Hye will be more careful in selecting roles and scripts that help highlight her abilities.

Kang Han Na

Another actress with a fairly unstable career is Kang Han Na. Her beauty stands out, and her performances are quite diverse. But not every work she stars in becomes a hit.

Kang Han Na

In 2016, Kang Han Na received countless compliments for her role as Yeon Hwa in “Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo”. Some even believe that her acting was better than the lead actress, IU. It was thought to be a good stepping stone for Kang Han Na’s future career, but it seems that she fell into the trap of boring scripts.

It took her two years for Kang Han Na managed to build a reputation for herself, as Won Ji Jae in “Start-Up”. A majority of viewers believed the actress actually surpassed Suzy in performance. The same happened with “My Roommate Is a Gumiho.”

However, as the female lead in “Bloody Heart,” Kang Han Na was not able to make a breakthrough. Her unremarkable performance and lack of chemistry with Lee Joon caused the drama to flop on the ranking.

Expectations are high for the upcoming 2023 drama “No Secret,” where she co-stars Go Kyung Pyo, whether she will be able to secure a higher place in the industry.

Kim Hye Yoon

An active actress in the industry, yet Kim Hye Yoon is unfortunately a lesser-known name. After the success in “Sky Castle,” she continued receiving love and praise from the audience with “Extraordinary You,” affirming her a place in the field. However, she went through a “low” period afterwards, gaining some attention with a minor role in “Snowdrop”, starring Jisoo and Jung Hae In.

Luckily for the actress, the big screen seems to favor her much more. In 2022, Kim Hye Yoon had a spectacular transformation with “The Girl on a Bulldozer” and obtained critical acclaim.
