BTS member Jungkook achieved the No.1 trophy on “Inkigayo” this week.
On the July 30th broadcast of SBS’s “Inkigayo”, Jungkook, NCT DREAM and NewJeans were nominated for No.1 in the last week of July. Eventually, Jungkook received the No.1 trophy with his solo single “Seven (feat. Latto)”.
The moment Jungkook was announced as the winner, he looked flustered. He shared, “I didn’t know I would get it. Thank you so much”. He continued, “I made a good start with ‘Seven’, I will work hard to become a better singer and continue to release good music in the future”.
Jungkook actually had no plan to appear on music shows for the promotion of “Seven”, but he decided to perform on “Inkigayo” to express gratitude to fans for their enthusiastic responses to his first solo single “Seven”.
Before his “Inkigayo” stage, Jungkook also revealed his feelings about reaching No.1 on Billboard HOT 100, saying “I was very confident in this song, but I believe that this is the valuable result from the support and love from ARMY (BTS’s fandom)”.
Explaining the song, Jungkook said, “‘Seven’ is a summer song that will conquer this summer. It’s very addictive and you won’t get tired of listening to it. Please listen to it a lot”. He added, “I came here to perform after finishing my overseas schedule because I missed you guys. I worked really hard for the stage today so I would appreciate it if you could enjoy it.”
Various other singers also made their comeback stages this week. Soyou, who released her second mini album “Summer Recipe” on July 26th, presented the performance of her title song “ALOHA (Feat. Bora)” and showcased Soyou’s impressive vocal, youthful visual and summer energy.
Oh My Girl performed their new title track “Summer Comes” of their 9th mini album “Golden Hourglass”. With Oh My Girl’s signature summer vibe, the song expresses the excitement when the summer comes and you get to hear the voice of your loved one.
In addition, ILY:1’s “My Color” and XG’s “GRL GVNG” also proved their strong presence through the comeback stages.
Meanwhile, “Inkigayo” this week features Jungkook, NewJeans, MIRAE, BOY STORY, Shownu x Hyungwon, Soyou, ICHILLIN’, ILY:1, XG, NMIXX, NCT DREAM, Oh My Girl, ZEROBASEONE, Kiss Of Life, HORI70N, etc.
