Jungkook of BTS Dominates Google Searches as the Most Searched K-pop Idol in 2023

Referred to as the ‘Billboard of Europe,’ the ‘World Music Awards’ (WMA), along with ‘About Music,’ a platform covering real-time music charts and updates, and international media outlet ‘Music Mundial,’ reported that Jungkook was the most searched K-pop idol on ‘Google’ in 2023.

Additionally, Jungkook topped the list of ‘2023 Most Searched K-pop Male Idols on Google’ announced by the ‘World Music Awards.’

Having embarked on his official solo career with ‘Seven’ in July of the previous year, Jungkook achieved consecutive success with ‘3D,’ establishing himself as a prominent pop star on the global stage. He swept through major charts worldwide, including Billboard, the UK Official Charts, and Spotify, solidifying his position as a powerful ‘hitmaker.’

Following the release of his first full-length solo album, ‘Golden,’ Jungkook collaborated with top-tier artists, further solidifying his position as a global sensation.

During his ‘Seven’ activities, Jungkook appeared on the U.S. ABC morning news program ‘Good Morning America’s Summer Music Concert Series in 2023,’ and the live broadcast of the popular UK talk show ‘The One Show’ on BBC. He also made history as the first Korean solo artist to headline the massive outdoor music festival, ‘2023 Global Citizen Festival,’ held in New York, delivering a spectacular performance.

After the release of ‘Golden,’ Jungkook showcased dazzling live performances on prominent U.S. platforms such as ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,’ ‘iHeartRadio,’ and ‘Audacy.’

Jungkook swept international awards at the ‘2023 MTV Video Music Awards’ (MTV VMA), winning the ‘Song of Summer’ category, ‘2023 MTV Europe Music Awards’ (MTV EMA) in the ‘Best Song’ category, and ‘2023 Billboard Music Awards’ (BBMAs) in the ‘Top Global K-Pop Song’ category.

In addition to being recognized as one of the ‘200 Greatest Singers of All Time’ by Rolling Stone and ‘2023’s Greatest Pop Stars’ by Billboard, Jungkook achieved various accolades, including being named ‘Artist of the Summer’ by ‘Audacy’ for two consecutive years and representing the most famous musician among those born in 1997 by the U.S. media outlet ‘Stacker.’

Previously, Jungkook had been the most searched K-pop idol on Google for five consecutive years from 2017 to 2021.

Beyond Google, Jungkook consistently ranked as the most searched K-pop idol on ‘YouTube’ worldwide for five years, secured the top spot as a K-pop star on ‘Tumblr’ for five consecutive years, and was the most searched K-pop idol on ‘Pinterest’ in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada.

On the global short video platform ‘TikTok,’ Jungkook showcased a dazzling presence, surpassing 24.8 billion views, becoming the first solo artist to achieve such a milestone worldwide.
